SURROUNDING AREA

Il Luppolo Nero is located in the part of Tuscany known as Versilia, which spans the Tyrrenian Coast (Mediterranean Sea) from just south of Viareggio to Forte dei Marmi and inland from the sea to the Apuan Alps, famous for its marble caves, scenic mountains and nature trails. Influenced by the Mediterraenan weather pattern, Versilia enjoys quite mild winters and warm summers with sea breezes helping to keep the temperatures comfortable. The principal towns in Versilia are Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta, Camaiore, Massarosa, Seravezza, Stazzema, and Torre del Lago Puccini.

Versilia offers tourists the sun, sand and beaches of the Tuscan Riviera, the dramatic scenery of the Apuan Alps, and a newly developed emphasis on eco-tourism. All this, plus easy proximity to many of the most visited places in Tuscany and Liguria, such as Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, the Cinque Terre, Portovenere, Portofino, and many other destinations, makes Versilia the ideal location for exploring Tuscany and Liguria.
